Heaven-bred Poesy
ध्वनि (Vibration), कालम् (Time), पदम् (Word) combine to make rhythm where sound groups emerging from profound compositions have immersive qualities on us and all things around us: animate and inanimate. Poetry, an all engaging form of art, predates literacy where orality was celebrated and revered, and words poured from the minds of poets.
The more familiar and contemporary traditions of writing and reading poetry was an art that followed much after the oral tradition of poetry was practiced, enjoyed and established in many cultures. The peerless power of human consciousness coupled with the restorative power of sound, where the deepest of human experiences of nature, of beauty, of relationships, of emotions, of events and so on, delivered to us the most divine of all art forms: poetry.
Some of the earliest known compositions were sophisticated sound groups, which could influence both the living and inanimate. There's nothing stopping us from exploring what comes naturally to us. Let's go...
Why do we read poetry as a group?
A shared experience or an individual one? Both or either are likely outcomes in a group. Connection is at the core of all things we do, be it even the much fussed over Artificial Intelligence (AI) or looking for extra-terrestrial life. It is all about connecting, relating to, belonging etc. Poetry is that potion of magic and power that connects us, even better, with ourselves the most. The connection we most need and the connection we try the least to establish.
We read poems and the medium is not a hinderance because the common language is POETRY and that is all that matters.
We announce reading dates and themes on a monthly basis on our social media platforms as well as on our news and events section. We typically meet and read onsite on a Saturday between 6 and 8 pm, until otherwise specified. Always RSVP should you wish to join us to read and or listen.
